YEREVAN. – Armenian weightlifters will not participate in the IWF Grand Prix – President’s Cup, to be held on December 16-18 in Belgorod.

Ruben Aleksanyan and Hripsime Khurshudyan in the categories of ultra heavy weight received individual invitations for the participation, Armenia’s weightlifting men's team head coach Poghos Poghosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. However, the athletes cannot participate as they got injuries at the World championship in Paris.

The athletes will be invited to compete in the following bodyweight categories: men 94kg, 105kg, +105kg, and women 75kg, +75kg. Winners will be awarded with $5000. The Cup is an individual qualification event for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
