YEREVAN. – As a result of late Wednesday night’s accident, in Armenian capital Yerevan, the natural gas tank of the VAZ 2601-model car exploded, Minister of Emergency Situations, Armen Yeritsyan, told news reporters during a briefing on Thursday.
“It happened in the night. A [VAZ 26]01 and a BMW crashed. The [VAZ 26]01 had a natural gas tank, [and] it immediately burned and exploded on the spot. Our [firefighters] were on the scene in exactly three minutes, but it was too late. As a result of the explosion, all were burned on the spot,” Yeritsyan said.
The victims are not yet identified.
