Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, has signed the final protocol of the parliamentary elections. The document was read at the final session by Secretary of the Central Election Commission Giorgi Javakhishvili, Novosti-Georgia reports.

According to the final results, the ruling "Georgian Dream" won with 53.93% of votes and won 89 out of 150 mandates in the parliament.

The 5% barrier was also overcome:

“Coalition for Change” - 11.03%, 19 mandates,
“Unity - National Movement” - 10.17%, 16 mandates, ‘Strong Georgia’ - 8.81%, 14 mandates,
 “Gakharia for Georgia” - 7.78%, 12 mandates.

More than 2.1 million out of more than 3.5 million citizens with the right to vote participated in the elections. About 34.9 thousand ballots were recognized invalid.

Georgia's CEC summarized the election results amid a noisy protest action and under heavy police protection.
