Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has scheduled an emergency meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps after the prime minister announced the suspension of talks with the EU, Novosti-Georgia reported.

Following the meeting, Zurabishvili will make an emergency statement in the coming hours, the press service said.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said today that Georgia itself is abandoning the EU accession talks until the end of 2028. 

At the moment, one after another protests are being announced in the Georgian segment of social networks after the announcement of Prime Minister Kobakhidze about the suspension of EU accession negotiations by the Georgian government.
