Poland is ready to increase electricity supplies to Ukraine if the authorities in Kyiv ask Warsaw to do so. This was stated by Polish Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska on air of TVP Info channel.

“Poland will be able to increase electricity sales to Ukraine, but on the condition that Ukraine itself expresses such a wish,” said Hennig-Kloska. “Our operator is ready, the only question is whether Ukraine will want to use it,” she added.

Poland trades electricity with Ukraine along the Rzeszów - Khmelnytsky NPP line. According to Polish expert Marcin Jakubik, Hungary has become the EU's largest exporter of electricity to Ukraine in 2024 - Budapest accounts for 35% to 45% of the total amount of electricity supplied there by European countries. Poland's share is between 15% and 25%, with Slovakia supplying approximately the same volumes to Kiev.
