Armenian Minister of Defense Suren Papikyan on Thursday received Indian Ambassador Nilakshi Saha Sinha, accompanied by newly appointed Indian Defense Attaché to Armenia, Air Force Group Captain Manish Tolani, and outgoing Defense Attaché, Brigadier General Naveen Nijhawan.
Papikyan extended his congratulations to Group Captain Tolani on his appointment, wishing him success in his mission and highlighting the significance of having an Indian defense attaché with residence in Yerevan for the first time, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The ensuing meeting focused on discussions concerning defense cooperation between Armenia and India, as well as regional and international security issues.
Papikyan expressed his gratitude to Brigadier General Nijhawan for his valuable contributions to the enhancement of defense cooperation between the two nations. And at the conclusion of the meeting, the defense minister awarded Nijhawan the Medal for Military Cooperation.
