Hraparak daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: It has been a long time since Azerbaijan demands to remove from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border the [EU] monitors carrying out a [monitoring] mission in Armenia since 2023; this is one of the points of the "peace treaty" that has not yet been agreed between the parties.

Does this mean that they will not extend the period of activity of the [EU] monitors, we asked NA [i.e. the National Assembly] president Alen Simonyan during the briefing yesterday. He gave a negative answer, saying that Azerbaijan has made such a demand, and the Armenian side has presented its version regarding the continuation of the monitors' activities.

We asked to reveal what option the Armenian side has proposed, [but] he did not reveal, saying that it would hinder the negotiations.

We voiced the information we have that the Armenian side proposes to change the format of the monitoring mission—they continue their mission in the office option, further away from the borders. Alen Simonyan noted: "I do not rule out that there will be no need to carry out a monitoring mission at the points where we have a demarcated border; for example, in the Kirants region. I do not rule out, but I cannot say anything definite."
