White House stenographers have a problem: US President Donald Trump speaks so much that the people responsible for transcribing his public speeches are struggling to cope, writes the Associated Press.

As the news agency notes, there were more than 22,000 words on inauguration day, then another 17,000 when Trump visited disaster sites in North Carolina and California.

Discussions are now underway to hire additional staff to handle the workload, according to people familiar with the negotiations.

As the AP notes, since the start of his second term, Donald Trump has been speaking “almost nonstop, drowning out voices of dissent and leaving his opponents struggling to be heard.”
