David Lammy, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom (UK), has arrived in Ukraine.

Further cooperation and joint projects aimed at strengthening Ukraine's security are expected to be discussed during this visit, said Ukrainian ambassador to the UK Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Suspilne reports.

Also, Lammy is expected to announce additional £55 million in financial assistance to help Kyiv have the maximum strong position, according to Reuters.

The UK foreign secretary’s visit comes as Kyiv seeks to establish closer relations with the administration of new US President Donald Trump, who has said he wants to quickly end Ukraine’s nearly three-year war with Russia.
