Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held telephone talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to discuss regional and global issues.

Erdogan assured that Turkey is doing its best to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and will continue its efforts to achieve a just and sustainable peace, Turkish media reported. He noted that Ankara is actively interacting with the leaders of the warring parties, as well as with representatives of international organizations, seeking a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

According to Erdogan, “a just and sustainable peace is possible,” but the support of the world community is necessary to achieve it. He emphasized that Turkey is in favor of ending wars not only in the region but around the world and expects international players to contribute to Ankara's peace efforts.

The sides also discussed security issues and the need to strengthen international cooperation in the face of global challenges.
