Syria on Tuesday condemned Israel's incursion into its territories and called on it to withdraw, according to the final statement of a national dialogue summit organized by Syria's new Islamist authorities to draw up a political roadmap for the country, Reuters reported.

Israel has deployed troops to the UN-monitored demilitarized zone inside Syria since rebels led by the pro-Turkish group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a former al-Qaeda affiliate, toppled former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in December.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel would not tolerate the presence of the HTS in southern Syria, nor any other forces associated with the country's new authorities, and demanded the demilitarization of the territory.
