US President Donald Trump announced that Kazakhstan has joined the Abraham Accords, and added that this is the first country to do so in his second term as US President.

Also, Trump announced a respective signing ceremony, which he discussed in a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. “Kazakhstan is the first Country of my Second Term to join the Abraham Accords, the first of many… We will soon announce a Signing Ceremony to make it official, and there are many more Countries trying to join this club of STRENGTH,” the US leader wrote, in particular, on Truth Social.

He emphasized that much work remains to be done in “uniting Countries for Stability and Growth,” citing “Real progress, real results.” The government of Kazakhstan has stated that the matter of the country’s joining the Abraham Accords is in the final stage of negotiations. Joining the Abraham Accords is a logical continuation of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, which is based on dialogue, mutual respect and regional stability, the officials’ respective statement said.

It is noted that Kazakhstan already has diplomatic and economic ties with Israel, so this move will be largely symbolic. But US Secretary of State Marco Rubio disagreed, emphasizing the new economic significance of the Abraham Accords for participating countries.

The Abraham Accords are a series of agreements on the normalization of relations between Israel and Arab countries, signed between 2020 and 2021 with US mediation.
