Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko has publicized US President Donald Trump’s Ukraine peace plan. The document contains these main provisions:

Territorial issues

  • Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk are recognized as de facto Russian territories
  • Kherson and Zaporizhzhia are frozen along the line of contact
  • Ukraine withdraws troops from part of Donetsk Region. A demilitarized buffer zone will be created there.

Security and international status

  • Ukraine constitutionally enshrines its renunciation of joining NATO
  • The bloc legally enshrines that Ukraine will not be accepted
  • The personnel of Ukraine’s armed forces is limited to 600,000
  • The deployment of NATO troops on Ukrainian territory is prohibited
  • Ukraine ensures its non-nuclear status

Energy

  • The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant will operate under international IAEA supervision
  • The electricity produced will be distributed equally between Russia and Ukraine (50/50)
  • The US and Ukraine will cooperate on restoring and modernizing natural gas infrastructure, including pipelines and storage facilities

Economic aspects

  • With the lifting of sanctions, Russia gradually returns to the global economy
  • Russia is invited to return to the Group of Eight (G8)
  • A Ukraine reconstruction fund is created using $100 billion of frozen Russian assets
  • The US and Europe will invest in restoring Ukraine’s infrastructure and economy

Guarantees and implementation monitoring

  • The US provides security guarantees to Ukraine
  • A US-Russia working group is created to monitor the implementation of the agreement
  • Russia enshrines in its legislation a non-aggression policy toward Europe and Ukraine
  • Nuclear non-proliferation treaties are extended

Humanitarian issues

Also, the document calls for an immediate ceasefire by all sides after reaching agreement and for the creation of a Peace Council chaired by Donald Trump, which will oversee the implementation of the agreement.
