US President Donald Trump believes he could visit Ukraine if it is necessary for peace. Trump stated this at a joint press conference Sunday with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy after their talks in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, USA

In particular, reporters asked Trump whether he would be willing to travel to Ukraine to help achieve peace with Russia.

The US president responded that he would like to make a deal, not necessarily go to Ukraine. But if it helps, saves 25,000 lives a month, or whatever, he would definitely be willing to do that, he added.

Trump has never visited Ukraine, neither during his first presidency from 2017 to 2021, nor during his current term.

But his predecessor, Joe Biden, had visited the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on February 20, 2023, on an unannounced visit during the full-scale war. And before that, he had visited Ukraine six times as US Vice President, from 2009 to 2017.
