Iran’s statement on construction of 10 more nuclear facilities will entail new sanctions against it imposed by international community, Head of Iranian studies’ department of Yerevan State University Garnik Asatryan told NEWS.am.

According to him, it will be of no surprise to Iran that will manage to resist the sanctions. Astaryan reckons, that Russia’s role is of major significance and Moscow will be unable to openly support Iran, thus it currently supports West, stating “that expected Iran to come to right conclusions after IAEA passed resolution.” Russia’s statements and actions might conflict each other and I do not think Russia will back sanctions against Iran, stated Asatryan.

Iranian Government announced starting the construction of ten uranium enrichment plants. According to Iranian media, the works on five facilities similar to the one in Natanz will begin immediately. Tehran plans to produce over 300 tones of nuclear fuel a year.
