The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) and the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) have no disagreements — even after a number of government members headed by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan joined the RPA, the PAP member Naira Zohrabyan told NEWS.am.

“If the Government members headed by the Premier decided that their joining the RPA will enhance the efficiency of programs, it is their own business. We are only taking it into account,” Zohrabyan said. As regards PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan’s absence from the RPA congress, which aroused suspicions, Zohrabyan said that he s on a working visit to the United States. “He had planned the visit much earlier, the Armenian President was informed. Gagik Tsarukyan authorized Aram Safaryan, Arevik Petrosyan and me to attend the congress. Aram Safaryan read out Mr. Tsarukyan’s message,” she said.

Zohrabyan does not rule out cooperation between the Armenian National Congress (ANC) and the RPA. “In any case, the PAP has always been for partnership with political forces. There are no nor can there be any issues opposition forces would not be able to start a dialogue over,” Zohrabyan said. As regards cooperation between Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Serzh Sargsyan, she said: “Why not? I do not see any problem here. Serzh Sargsyan himself stated that we have no right to have a disunited society now,” she said.
