Dec. 3, RA Government session approved the draft resolution on setting up new CJSC to deal with nuclear power plant construction. Under the decision, Armenian side jointly with Russian ATOMSTROYEXPORT JSC will found a closed joint-stock company with AMD 60m (U.S. $155 000) nominal capital.

According to RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan, it was decided to take as a basis the research by managing company WorleyParsons and approve the equipment of new NPP unit having a reactor with 1060 MW capacity. The shareholder from Armenian side will be RA Energy Ministry.

“Today we make a political decision and content to create a joint venture with our Russian partners with equal shares”, said RA Premier Tigran Sargsyan.

NEWS.am recalls, that the tender winner for construction of new NPP was WorleyParsons Resources and Energy company.
