YEREVAN. – A call was received, on Friday at 1:42am, informing that smoke was coming out from the Armenian capital city Yerevan building that belongs to Spayka Company.

Armenian News-NEWS.am ascertained the aforesaid from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A firefighting squad and a response team were dispatched to the scene. It was found out that plastic waste was burning in the second floor of the building. The fire was extinguished at 1:59am.

To note, it took the Yerevan fire department 14.5 hours to put out the large fire that had started in the building on Wednesday midnight. In line with preliminary data, Spayka Company’s three-story building, with a surface area of 4,500 square meters, was completely destroyed by fire.

During Thursday’s Cabinet session, PM Tigran Sargsyan instructed that Spayka Company be allocated a corresponding production area to continue its purveyance.

Company official Karen Baghdasaryan informed that the 15,000-square-meter refrigeration complex—which is the largest in the region—was completely damaged.
