YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Government of Armenia, it was decided to propose to the speaker of the National Assembly (NA) to convene a special parliamentary session; the latter shall take place on October 31.

The acting Minister of Justice, Artak Zeynalyan, presented this matter at the Cabinet meeting.

Accordingly, it is proposed to convene this parliamentary session to debate on the bill with respect to declaring amnesty in Armenia in connection with criminal cases, and on the occasion of the 2800th anniversary of capital city Yerevan as well as the centennial of the proclamation of the First Republic of Armenia.

The draft law will be discussed with a round-the-clock mode.

Before that, however, this bill will be debated on at the meeting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and Protection of Human Rights.
