YEREVAN. – Armenia's special investigative service responded to ex-prosecutor general Gevorg Kostanyan’s comments that he is ready to return to Armenia and publicly answer all the questions of the investigative body regarding the criminal case on March 1, 2008.

“It is puzzling that Gevorg Kostanyan, who once held the office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia, comes up with an unrealistic proposal to hold a public hearing on the criminal case, which we can regard as another pretext for not appearing before the investigators,” the statement issued by the investigators says.

The investigators added that Kostanyan had already had a chance to provide his assistance during an interrogation and urged Kostanyan to come back and appear before the investigators.

Earlier Kostanyan said that he is ready to return to Armenia and publicly answer all the questions of the investigative body regarding the criminal case on March 1, 2008.
