High-level and extended Armenian-Georgian talks were held today in Georgia.

"The democratic development of our countries, the peace of the region; this is the basis for the economic development of our countries, our peoples,” Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said, in particular, in his opening remarks. "I am glad that you also agree that all conflicts in the region should be resolved peacefully."

Gakharia also noted that they welcome Armenia's cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership of the European Union (EU). "The democratic development of our countries is the foundation of our security and economic development," the Georgian Prime Minister added.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, for his part, emphasized that there is a huge untapped potential in the relations between the two countries, and full use of that potential is an important part of their agenda. According to the Armenian Prime Minister, the two countries have many opportunities to bring their economic cooperation to a new level.

"In my view, if people perceive Armenia and Georgia as a territory that has democratic commonalities, the investment appeal of our two countries will be much greater," he added. "In my opinion, we have a common view on our security."

Pashinyan stressed that Armenia welcomes Georgia's position that all conflicts should be resolved exclusively through peaceful means. “We derive from the assumption that the conflicts in our region are not at all similar to each other (...). We look at every conflict in its peculiarities. ”

Nikol Pashinyan also touched upon Armenia's membership in the EEU, noting: "In our opinion, Armenia's membership in the EEU and the fact that Georgia has signed a free trade agreement with the EU also creates very serious opportunities."
