The United States is considering limiting the supply of high-tech products to Russia if it attacks Ukraine, Bloomberg reported on Saturday, citing a source.

The source said the US administration is studying the issue of limiting the export of high-tech products, as well as microelectronics, which is made using American technologies or software. The list of components and merchandise can range from avionics and tools to smartphones, game consoles and televisions.

As the agency notes, in this way the United States wants to use its technological advantage in order to strike at the military and civilian sectors of Russia, as well as its ambitions in the technological sphere.

A senior US administration official said on Saturday at a briefing on the upcoming Russian-American security talks that Russia would face financial and economic sanctions and diplomatic repercussions in the event of aggression against Ukraine.
