A villager in India's Bolangir district, Orissa (Odisha), removed a cobra's teeth with manicure pliers and was arrested, Odisha TV reported

Veera Biswala caught a cobra and removed its teeth with nail clippers. A recording of the incident went viral on social media. Indian Forest Service officers then arrested the Indian and charged him with animal cruelty.

Animal advocates are demanding that Biswal be severely punished.

The Department of Forest Resources said it would investigate what happened. Strict action will be taken against the culprit.
