Armenia will persistently follow up Azerbaijan's compliance with the Court's decisions and will notify the Court of any violations arising in the course of the Armenia v. Azerbaijan litigation, Armenia's representative for international affairs reported.

On February 22, 2023, the International Court of Justice issued its decisions on the application of interim measures to the appeals submitted by Armenia and Azerbaijan under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. Regarding Armenia's appeal, the Court found that since December 12, 2022 communication between Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia through the Lachin corridor was disrupted.

The court noted that this situation had caused a number of consequences, and that the impact remains to this day. The Court noted that the information before it showed that the disruption of movement through the Lachin corridor prevented the transfer of persons of Armenian nationality hospitalized in Nagorno-Karabakh to medical facilities in Armenia for emergency medical care. The Court also noted that the evidence showed that there were obstacles to the entry of essential goods into Nagorno-Karabakh, which resulted in a lack of food, medicine and other medical necessities for life.

The court did not find Azerbaijan's assurances that Azerbaijan continued to ensure the safe movement of people, vehicles and goods through the Lachin corridor satisfactory and granted Armenia's request for an interim measure and obliged Azerbaijan

- Pending a final decision in the Armenia v. Azerbaijan case, to take all measures to ensure the unimpeded movement of persons, vehicles and goods in both directions through the Lachin corridor,

- With regard to Azerbaijan's claims of alleged Armenian mines, the Court rejected those claims in their entirety,

Armenia will be consistent in the implementation of the court decisions by Azerbaijan and will notify the court of any violations arising throughout the duration of the Armenia v. Azerbaijan case, the statement reads.
