Samantha Power, the head of USAID, embarked on a visit to Goris, located in the Syunik region of Armenia, as part of her mission to assess the situation of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh).

Paruyr Hovhannisyan, the RA Deputy Foreign Minister who accompanied her during the trip, informed Sputnik Armenia that Samantha Power is scheduled to travel to Azerbaijan following her visit to Armenia.

He revealed that Power has already announced that her primary objective is to provide humanitarian aid and explore additional assistance programs for Armenia.

Accompanied by the US Ambassadors to the United States and Armenia, as well as Syunik's governor, Robert Ghukasyan, the head of USAID is actively involved in coordinating aid for those forcibly displaced from Artsakh, conducting assessments of their urgent needs.

Hovhannisyan emphasized that the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made extensive efforts to draw international attention to the situation, with Samantha Power's visit being one of those crucial efforts.
