Ethnic cleansing is unfolding before people’s eyes in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Armenians leave their home, which is more than 2,000 years old. American congressman Brad Sherman wrote about this on X—former Twitter.
The arrest of the leaders of Artsakh by Azerbaijan is a signal to the people of Armenia that they are next, and Artsakh ex-minister of state Ruben Vardanyan and all those unjustly arrested must be released, Sherman noted.
He added that the Biden administration must publicly tell Azerbaijan to stop now or face sanctions.
Sherman noted that last week, Rep. Chris Smith and he introduced a resolution to impose sanctions on Azerbaijan for its war crimes in Artsakh.
Also, the American lawmaker stated that this is the 21st century, and the United States cannot turn a blind eye to ethnic cleansing.
