
Unusually warm weather for October has been confirmed in The Apennines, with daytime temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius even in the northern cities of Italy. It is about record numbers for the month of October, La Repubblica newspaper reports, citing meteorologists.
Peaks of up to 33 degrees Celsius are expected at the beginning of this week in Rome and Florence, as well as in some regions in the northern Italy.
A slight drop in temperature is expected in the north of the country from Wednesday, but the temperatures for this period will still remain above average.
According to the National Confederation of Direct Farmers (COLDIRETTI) of Italy, 2023 is currently one of the hottest years on record in the country since 1800. The average air temperature in Italy was 0.67 degrees Celsius higher than the historical average.
