Azerbaijan continues to prepare for the opening of the "Zangezur corridor" as if nothing had happened.

“Serious work is underway for commissioning of Zangazur [(Zangezur)] corridor by our government. As The State Customs Committee, we are also involved in these processes. Currently, we are working on checkpoints in the Zangazur corridor,” said Shahin Bagirov, the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, in his statement to journalists, APA reports.

“At the same time, we are working on new projects, and the construction works will begin in the next phase,” Bagirov added.

The "Zangezur corridor" refers to one, or more precisely, two routes passing through the territory of Armenia: railway and motorway. Armenia categorically stated that it rejects any approach in the spirit of "corridor logic" and rejects any attempt to give extra-territorial status to regional communications. Azerbaijan, on the other hand, stubbornly continues to call these communications a "corridor," even though weak attempts have been made at the level of the president of this country to talk about Armenia's sovereignty over the road.
