MP of Russia’s State Duma of Armenian origin Ashot Eghiazaryan who filed a lawsuit on defamation in the American court wants to prohibit the respondent US citizen Peter Zalmayev and his lawyers to bring up questions not concerning the case especially questions concerning his business reputation.

“Zalmayev must be prohibited from asking Eghiazaryan questions about his past life, which have nothing to do with the statements in Eghiazaryan’s lawsuit,” claims Russian MP's attorney.

In his lawsuit which was presented to South New York’s federal court Eghiazaryan claims to be a victim of a raider attack. The respondent of Eghiazaryan’s lawsuit is Peter Zalmayev.

Eghiazaryan claims that Zalmayev is interested in every aspect of his life and asks the court to limit that interest.
