If Turkey delays the ratification of the Armenian-Turkish protocols, Yerevan will immediately take necessary actions under international law, RA President Serzh Sargsyan told a news conference held jointly with his Latvian counterpart Valdis Zatlers.

The Armenian leader stated that he ordered the relevant bodies to amend the Armenian laws on the signing, ratification and invalidation of international agreements.

“Armenia is ready to honor its commitments by ratifying the protocols. We expect Turkey to make a similar step,” the Armenian leader said.

President Serzh Sargsyan also stated that Turkey’s attempts to link the Armenia-Turkey reconciliation to the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process are doomed to failure. “Turkey is trying to link the Armenian-Turkish relations to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, but the attempts are doomed to failure,” the Armenian leader said.
