RA President Serzh Sargsyan sent a congratulatory message to the “Mesrop Mashtots” expedition head Zori Balayan, the sailboat captain Samvel Karapetyan and the crew.

The message reads: “I kindly congratulate you on completion of the first stage of round-the-world trip. You are sailing for already seven months across the seas and oceans, becoming pioneers in Armenian history in crossing the Atlantic Ocean, then passing the Isthmus of Panama you reached the Pacific and visited our L.A. community. Also you were in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina meeting our compatriots there and completed the first stage of your trip,” RA presidential press service informs NEWS.am.

Serzh Sargsyan considered symbolic the sailing under “Mesrop Mashtots” name, emphasizing the “rare mission of uniting our countrymen throughout the world around the spiritual and cultural heritage of our nation.” RA President wished safe journey to this unique navigation and a happy return.
