Azeri political scientist Fikret Sadykhov considers Turkish Government headed by Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan miscalculated the Kurdish issue settlement and Armenia-Turkey normalization. According to him, the latest clashes between Kurds and Turkish police proved there are serious contradictions in the country’s policy. “Turkish Government could not take the real view of the situation,” he outlined.
According to him, presently he has considerable doubts over the ratification of Armenia-Turkey Protocols. “In order the Protocols get into the Parliament, the votes of the ruling parties are not enough. The oppositional parties’ votes are also needed, which perceive these documents extremely negative. Moreover, some forces in Turkey believed Azerbaijan will not respond to these processes, however it turned out the opposite. Azerbaijan toughly opposed the Protocols, therethrough uniting more forces in Turkey against the Protocols. The sooner Armenians overjoyed and were miscalculated yet again,” Sadykhov noted.
