December 17, 2009, German Ambassador to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt will visit the Armenian contingent that is to form part of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF).

During his visit German Ambassador will get familiarized with the Armenian peacekeeping forces, German Embassy in Armenia informed NEWS.am.

Hans-Jochen Schmidt will host the Armenian contingent, as well as RA Defense Ministry high-ranking officials in January 2010, before leaving for Germany.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, the Armenian contingent will join the German troops in Afghanistan. It will conduct 3-week maneuvers in Germany before starting its peacekeeping mission.
