An aircraft loaded with weapons from North Korea recently seized in Bangkok was bound for Iran, The Wall Street Journal reported today.

According to the source, the plane had to land in Tehran after refueling stops in Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates and Ukraine. “The new information is presented in a joint draft report by analysts at TransArms, based in Chicago, and the International Peace Information Service, or IPIS, of Antwerp, Belgium,” the article reads.

According to the flight plan, en route to Pyongyang the aircraft made a stop at an air force base in Azerbaijan for unknown reason, however “Azerbaijani officials couldn't be reached for comment,” the source says.

Iranian authorities did not comment on the matter yet.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, IL-76 with weapons from China on board was detained in Bangkok on December 12. Earlier, law enforcers spread information that the plane is owned by Georgia. However, there is no precise information which country possess the aircraft.
