In his interview with British Channel 4 News, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated that US President Barack Obama failed to meet the global expectations, RIA Novosti reports.
“He has failed to meet the expectations of the people in the US and the people of the world,” Ahmadinejad stated. Asked about Obama’s statement made in Cairo, offering an extended hand to Iran, President underlined that Iran in fact lent hand to U.S.
Speaking about the deadlines that the UN Security Council proposed on the uranium swap, Ahmadinejad said that the terms are “meaningless”. He also underlined that the exchange of fuel is a “technical job”, whereas they put forward political conditions.
In the course of the interview Iranian President also touched upon the sanctions imposed on Iran by IAEA, saying that the country is “against the expansionist policies of the U.S.” “I think it has become an old issue to talk about the nuclear program. The story of these claim of U.S. and its allies have turned into a TV series,” the President added.
