Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Armenia on an official visit. Today, January 14, Lavrov will hold talks with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian and RA President Serzh Sargsyan. According to RA Foreign Ministry, bilateral cooperation and regional issues are on the agenda.

Dynamically developing allied Armenia-Russia relations, as well as wide range of issues on cooperation in political, trade and economical spheres will be in focus.

The officials will also touch upon progress in Karabakh peace process in the context of Russia’s mediatory efforts in the conflict settlement.

The day before, Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid a two-day visit to Moscow, where met with RF President Dmitry Medvedev and Premier Vladimir Putin.

After Moscow talks, Russian and Turkish sides signed a number of agreements on energy cooperation, in particular on joint construction of NPP in Turkey. The parties also agreed on lifting of visa regime that might be implemented in 2010 spring.
