YEREVAN. – On Monday, the Armenian National Assembly (NA) standing committees will begin discussions of the execution of the 2011 State Budget, Zhamanak daily reports.    

“And thus, in the next NA session the Parliament will evaluate the activities of the Government. 

[But] The [Prosperous Armenia Party] PAP has found itself in an uncertain situation in this regard. It is apparent that, in May, the party led by Gagik Tsarukyan voted with great fanfare against the Government’s program, and declared itself an alternative to the authorities. 

PAP would have wanted to present itself to the society as opposition in this case as well, but in 2011, [and] with four ministerial positions, PAP had direct participation in the Government’s activities. So, voting against [the execution of the 2011 State Budget] perhaps would not be understood quite correctly, and the PAP members will be compelled to partially criticize the Government, [and] solely those domains which PAP ministers did not head,” Zhamanak writes.
