In the Northeastern Gegharkunik region of Armenia a 23-year-old man has been accused of having sexual relationship with an underage girl. Armenian News-NEWS.am has been informed that the defendant, Roman Gasparyan, faces prosecution according to Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. In the meantime, Gasparyan has requested expedited judicial proceedings while the 15-year-old victim, A. H., has declined to bring forth any allegations against Gasparyan, claiming to have married him.

As of September 6, the accused, Gasparyan, has been formally charged, found guilty of violating Article 141 of the Criminal Code, and financially reprimanded in the amount of 150,000 drams (AMD).  The indicted, Roman Gasparyan, is not in custody at the moment. He has signed court papers promising not to leave while the enforcement of his indictment goes into effect.
