YEREVAN. – The Armenian Central Bank’s (CB) proposal, to make amendments in the law “On Fight Against Money Laundering and Financing Terrorism,” will be discussed during the next Cabinet session, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.      

“There are so many amendments that the CB introduced a new draft law with the same heading. It is proposed to make amendments in dozens of other laws as well.  

[But] It is not yet known as to why all of a sudden it was decided to introduce such large package of drafts now. It is known only that solely two uproarious cases are opened in Armenia on money laundering, and both of them are against Armenia’s former ministers of foreign affairs,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
