YEREVAN.- The workers injured as a result of Thursday’s collapse of a semi-constructed building in Yerevan are receiving stat-funded treatment, Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan told reporters on Friday.  

“The government bears costs in case of emergency situations,” he said.

Dumanyan said one of the injured workers remains critical, he is conscious and can talk to doctors. Another patient has a compound fracture and will have to undergo a surgery. Other patients would be discharged in the next few days.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, a construction crew of eleven remained under the debris as a result of Thursday’s collapse of a building in downtown Yerevan. A criminal case has been launched on charges of violation of the employment protection rules.
