YEREVAN.- The share of supermarkets in fast moving consumer goods in Yerevan makes 39 percent, of which 30 percent are absorbed by four main Yerevan-based supermarkets, shows the research conducted by America CJSC.

About 370 thousand people in Yerevan visit supermarkets daily but only 40 percent of them do shopping. About 42 percent of the adults living in Yerevan visit supermarkets almost every day, company’s press service told Armenian News-NEWS.am. .

The survey results show that 20 percent of the shoppers are men, 66 percent are women and 14 percent are couples. Women become more active in terms of shopping as they grow up, whereas shopping activity of men becomes relevantly stable after 26. After marriage, shopping activity of women increases 2.2 times, and 1.7 times among men.
