YEREVAN.- The leadership of Zvartnots airport does not want to see Armavia’s bankruptcy and has no plans to buy the air company, the airport chief executive Marcelo Vende told reporters on Friday.

“We want to cooperate with the company as far as possible,” he assured.

Vende said talks with Armavia have been held since the beginning of 2012 and the comapny was granted discounts for aircraft parking charges.

“We cannot afford working free of charge. We have made large investments, built a new terminal. Our airport is the best in the region in terms of quality and safety. All these expenses must be substantiated,” Vende said.

He did not name the exact amount of Armavia’s debt noting that air company has several times exceeded previously set limit of $2 million 350 thousand.
