Famous American actor, Dallas star Larry Hagman passed away on Friday at the age of 81. He died at hospital of complications from cancer.

Larry Hagman became famous for his role of Texas oilman J.R. Ewing. Hagman’s relatives said he celebrated Thanksgiving Day with his family and friends on the day of his death, BBC reported.  

In 1990 Hagman was diagnosed with cancer and cirrhosis, he underwent liver transplantation, NEWSru.com reported.

In 2011 Hagman announced he has a throat cancer.
