YEREVAN.- The European Court of Human Rights is fulfilling an important task: assisting establishment of the judicial system in the members states of the Council of Europe, head of the CoE office in Yerevan Silvia Zehe said.

European Court has already made numerous decisions to protect human rights, she said during the event dedicated to the Human Rights Day.

Silvia Zehe named the important functions of the European Court: to determine precedents and to prevent violations.  

She said a program to assist implementation of human rights will be launched in several post-Soviet states, including Armenia and regional neighbors, next year.
