YEREVAN. – In line with the official information which the Armenian State Migration Agency made public, over 2,053,000 people have left Armenia and close to 1,981,000 people have returned to the country in the first eleven months of this year, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“So, the difference between the numbers—that is, the negative ratio—is 71,374 people. The negative ratio was around 64,917 people in the same time period last year. In fact, the growth in the number of those that left and did not return is double digit—approximately ten percent—as compared with the year past.

Considering these dynamics, we should expect for the number of those that did not return to be at least 55,000 people all through the year.

By comparing the negative ratio of the departures and arrivals in the past three years, we find out that close to 160,000 people emigrated from Armenia over that time, which is more than five percent of Armenia’s population,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
