Expert of the Institute of CIS countries, political scientist Mikhail Alexandrov expressed his opinion to the reporter of  Armenian News-NEWS.am that in 2013, including the next meeting  of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the beginning of the year, one can hardly expect anything new in Karabakh settlement.

According to him, the parties’ positions are so clear and certain that “breakthroughs” and “progress” are simply unrealistic to expect.

“Given the current balance of power, nothing will change in the region, despite various claims,” he added.

According to the expert, the status quo will be broken if the situation changes in the world.

“But such conditions do not add up yet,” Mikhail Alexandrov said.
