YEREVAN. – Following a two-day uncertainty, when no foreign currency trading was conducted at Armenia’s stock exchange, the American national currency lost value in the country’s financial market on Tuesday.
The dollar’s average exchange rate, against the Armenian dram (AMD), comprised AMD 406.82/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange. Even though the US national currency was not traded in the past two trading days in the country, it enjoyed a demand at an exchange rate higher than AMD 407/$1.
Tuesday’s sales totaled $2.4 million at the stock exchange.
In Armenia’s cash foreign currency market, the dollar’s buying and selling exchange rates primarily stabilized at the AMD 406-408/$1 range respectively.
