The Chairman of the Public Council for Foreign Policy and Security of the Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) Republic Masis Mayilyan in the interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am commented on the issues related to the readiness to Armenian and Azerbaijani people to build relationships. He stressed that good relations with neighbors - is a natural state for Artsakh. According to him, a large part in establishing the broken relationships is assigned to elites.
The minimal condition for the establishment must be public confidence in the fact that on the other side of the border the partner recognizes your right to exist and develop, and there are no hatched plans on destroying the state created by the law or forcible subjugating people to the will of another.
“The signals received from the Azerbaijani government demonstrate that the power elite of this country does not intend to prepare their society for peaceful coexistence with neighboring Armenian state. This situation creates new challenges for non-governmental organizations that are engaged in peacekeeping operations in the region,” Masis Mayilyan concluded.
