YEREVAN. – The Special Investigation Service (SIS) started examining the petition—submitted by opposition bloc Armenian National Congress National Assembly Faction leader Levon Zurabyan, and former FM and Prosperous Armenia Party MP Vartan Oskanian—whereby they demand that the persons who wiretapped their conversation, which was held in a café months ago, and publicized this recording be exposed and brought to account. What is more, the MPs are summoned to SIS on Friday to give explanations with respect to their petition, the sources of Zhoghovurd daily report.

“It is interesting whether the person that carried out and disseminated this wiretap—which ‘shuffled’ a variety of political cards—will be found, or will the crime be covered up yet again. At any rate, it should be stated that the publicizing of the wiretap diverted the public attention from the key issues of our country. [But] Perhaps, all this was conjured up for that,” Zhoghovurd writes.
