Kyrgyzstan’s main—and 23-meter high—Christmas tree, which was placed at the main square of capital city Bishkek, fell down on Friday evening. 

Even though no one was injured as a result, the toys on the tree were broken, and it is yet unknown when it will be put up again.

The city’s deputy mayor arrived on the scene immediately, Kyrgyztoday reports. He expressed a hope that the tree would be put up again in the morning, but, as For.kg reports, the tree was being disassembled on Saturday.  

It became apparent that the steel pipe at its base had bent and it is impossible to straighten it. Also, Akipress news agency posted the video that was shot at the scene of the incident.  

The Bishkek deputy mayor blamed the strong winds for this occurrence. He informed, sometime thereafter, that the Christmas tree could be shortened and, also, fortified with additional wiring.
